| Hand-trolling |
 |
| Hand-trolling is
a type of sport fishing in which bait is being dragged below
the sea surface while imitating prey of a certain predator
fish which is our target. The main feature of hand-trolling
is searching for fish, constant change of bait’s location,
and headed movement which challenges predators to catch
the bait. Baits can be live or dead fish or chepalopoda,
but also their imitations made of various materials. Fishing
with hand-troll requires good knowledge of the sea, fish
and this particular fishing technique. As a start, it is
essential to be aware of the type of fish that can be found
in a particular area, as well as the time and ways of their
nourishment, and to which depth the fish moves to. Apart
from that, it is important to choose a hand-troll that will,
with the way it is made and with bait, provide the best
chances for success. Furthermore, direction and speed of
the boat needs to be adjusted to the speed of the fish that
is being targeted, while calculating the impact of the boat
speed to the depth of dipped hand-troll, that is, the fish-hook
with the bait. Hand-troll is dragged in a particular depth
at which the fish is expected to appear. It is possible
to fish with the hand-troll at any depth between the sea
surface and sea floor, depending on fish that we are after. |
